Who are we?
BRO is a non-profit group founded in January 2002. We have been recognized by Public Health Department and other government agencies as a leading volunteer group specialized in gay issues.
Bangkok Rainbow Organization is a community-based organization supporting LGBT well-being in Thailand. Founded over 15 years ago, BRO has grown to a registered member base of more than 2,000 members. A core strength is its long-standing and extensive Thailand media relations as well as its “from the community, for the community” structure and commitment.
What we do?
BRO organizes events such as seminars and workshops with funds from donations and sponsorship mainly by Thai Health Promotion Foundation, a unit under Prime Minister’s Office. The group is very active in accessing to public via various media channels with well-attended programs such as talks on controversial issues and casual meetings on various topics aimed at promoting the better understanding of homosexuality and its related issues. BRO provides advices to local and foreign media representatives locally when covering gay issues in Thailand.
Our policy BRO is a non-partisan group. We are open to work with any gay and non-gay groups of either private and public interest. Some previous activities and participations
1. AIDS and Communication for new attitudes and behavior, Kanchanaburi and Nakorn Nayok provicnes 2003-2004.
2. Talks on Taiwanese film cinema, TV Drama: LOVE 8009 Channel 9 TV, new book review, What’s wrong being nude?, Gays and Sauna.
3. Holds an annual BRO’s seminar on Gay and Understanding, Bangkok Palace Hotel 2003.
4. Promotes new films and stage plays in Bangkok: Bear Cup, Formula 17, Love! Valor! and Compassion! in Thai
version.
